My class will require a lot of effort from you, it is not going to be an easy "A," type of Art class. My expectations are high. I believe that great accomplishments take work.
As your Art coach I am going to push you to develop your skills to the greatest extent. Art is one of the most important vehicles society has for change. We live in a world full of digital media. Understanding the language of imagery is growing even more important everyday.
I strongly feel that most people today don't really understand that they have an enormous potential to contribute to humanity in a positive way. Art is one way we add beauty and positive energy to the world and to each others experience.
Art is a language, a visual language that allows us to express things words cannot, and most importantly it reconnects us to a sense of purpose and gives us a vehicle for social change. As human beings this is one of the last things we do that separates us from animals.
I have earned a degree in Studio Art with a minor in Education from the University of California Davis. I was privileged to have learned from some great artist. Wayne Theibaud, Malaquias Montoya, Dave Hallowell, and Mike Henderson to mention a few. Google these artist and you may be surprised. I have over a decade of teaching experience.
